Reasons Why You Shoud Read It!

Who likes to read easy books instead of long, big books? I know I do.

I'm here to give my opinion on this book..
1. It's written very well.
2. It's an easy read.
3. I would recommend this book, if you love mysteries!
4. You won't be able to put it down.
5. It's a "oh my gosh" feeling.
6. Keeps you interested.
And finally #7..
It opens your eyes by the things that are happening through out the book.

Tapes.

Hello! You're probably wondering about this book. Hannah makes these tapes for everyone.  (As you know). You're probably wondering if you could hear these tapes for yourself. Actually.. there is a website where you hear them! You can hear ALL 13 tapes that she made and you could probably (maybe) put yourself in the situation and see how it feels.. or maybe you won't be able to.

Thirteen Reasons Why Theme.

There are many, many themes for this book. The theme I chose was We are responsible for our own actions. I chose this theme because in the book Hannah killed herself and didn't hurt anyone else but her. There would've been many reasons that cause her decision. It wasn't anyone's decisions it was hers.

Quotes:
"You don't know what's goes on in anyone's life but your own. And when you mess with one part of a person's life, you're not messing with just that part . Unfortunately, you can't be that precise and selective. When you mess with one part of a person's life, you're messing with their entire life. Everything... affects everything." (201-202)

"No matter what I've said so far, no matter who I've spoken of, it all comes back to- it all ends with-me." (253)

Character Delevopment

I chose Clay Jensen for my character development.
As you have read my previous posts, you probably know Clay by now. He's the main character in this entire book. Clay heard rumors about Hannah. He knew that hearing rumors about Hannah would be a terrible choice he would make. He receives tapes in front of this front door. He wonders what could be in the box.. til he opens it.. He listens to the tapes that were in the box. He's having a hard time listening to her tapes and wonders if he had something to do with her death. His choice was to keep listening to the tapes. "That's not an obsession. It's respect. I'm living out her last request."
Clay went on his own way and wanted to prove everyone wrong about Hannah.  "I would helped her if only she'd only ley me. I would have helped her because I wanted her to stay alive." Clay truly cared about Hannah.

Characters In Thirteen Reasons Why.

 

Justin Foley- Justin was Hannah's first kiss. One rumor can lead the road into a disaster. He was a boy who was cold hearted. He didn't care much about anything else besides himself.

Clay Jensen-  Clay is a main character in the book. He isn't a boy who likes to party or get out of his bubble. In fact, he lacks confidence and he's really shy. He wanted to know Hannah Baker, and liked her. Clay didn't confess his feelings to her. But now, since she's dead he can't do anything about it.

Tony- Tony is one of Clay's close best friend. He's the most trustworthy character out of everyone in this book. If you promise anything to him, he'll promise to anything that he'll make.

Alex - Alex is one of Hannah Baker's friends. Once Hannah had moved into this new school. Alex was the first person to meet her. He's childish and makes up lists for people.

Jessica - Jessica is also one of Hannah Baker's friend when she had moved in. Jessica is always full of jealousy. Always jealous of Hannah.

 Mr. Porter- He was Hannah's English teacher and wanted to help Hannah but didn't get any hints from her.

Tyler- Tyler is a by who likes to be sneaky. He's shy and loves his camera. He's one of the reason's why Hannah dead..

Courtney- Courtney was kind and beautiful like Hannah. Courtney went around and spread rumors that Hannah actually had something in her drawer. She used Hannah for pretty much anything. Getting rides to parties etc.

Zack- Zach is one of Clay's close friends. He would always take Hannah's notes that people gave her. He was snoopy and wanted to know things.

Jenny- Jenny is selfish. She doesn't care about anything but herself and very irresponsible. One she heard someone died, she ignored it and pretend if she had done something wrong.

Marcus- Marcus was Hannah's Valentine. He took advantage of Hannah.

Ryan- Ryan is a nerd. He loves poems and writes them very well. He didn't care much about people. All he wanted was to publish a good poem.

Bryce- He wanted Hannah. He only liked Hannah because she had reputations with other guys and that's what he wanted..

What's It About?

The book that I have chosen to read is Thirteen Reasons Why. This book is about a girl name Hannah Baker. She's dead. She makes all of these tapes for the people who were responsible for her death. (basically) These people find out the true reason why she's dead.. she makes these tapes for those people. Clay Jensen doesn't know why he got these tapes that were sent to him...
